After watching that LDO tutorial a few times and listening to Sherkels clip, I came up with this:

    https://clyp.it/user/witodtsy

It’s actually a lot easier than I thought tbh, its just the detune, wavetable choices/position (if you use a wavetable synth) and a few other things you need to tweak to high heaven to get right lol

edit: URL playing up, the one you want is called moar soaw (don’t ask)

Awesome I’ll see If I can get some promo material to you for it if you like?

Even a structured progression might be quite nice

If you set out guidelines that the first 6 tracks or so are hard NRG before moving on to freeform.

I’d be up for that, I’m no stranger to distance collaborative mixes 🙂

Along with Codex 7: Resurrection of Realform 😆

I said it was going to be a short one, but ended up being a small essay haha, sorry about that. I also forgot to include what I’m up to at the minute…

I still work with Smiling Corpse, I just recently worked on the Blue Revolver OST and remixes, I was the mastering engineer for the project as well as the sourcer of remixers 🙂

While freeform is no longer my main focus, I mostly produce at the moment. Liquid DnB and Progressive Breaks.

Here’s two examples of my work so far:

Some of you may recognise the original/Le Dos-On/JdKid mixes from a Freeformatted EP we did some time back

You may already be familiar with Blue Phoenix, or his freeform alias Erkenfresh. I really wanted to do a dnb interpretation of the epicly emotional original 🙂

So thats me, 18 months ago to now

Short intro from me, anyone who’s been on the circuit for more than 18 months or so will probably know my name (for better or worse hahaha).

I retired from DJing in general about 18 months ago, but initially got into Freeform around 2006. The first track I heard was Carbon Based’s epic remix of Lush, closely followed by Dryad Machine ( a friend had found the two vinyl in the bargain bin at a Tidy Weekender). Life changing experience for me, originally coming from a Metal and Industrial/Aggro background, to freeform via stuff like Lab4 and Tinrib.

I initially found TYFTH after getting my first freeform club set in a club – I was looking for something new and innovative, as all I’d heard were the 4-5 decent nuenergy releases and FiNRG stuff. This lead me onto Betwixt, Alabaster, Suge, Lv4 and a whole host of awesome trance based Japanese hardcore/freeform.

In the years following, I tried to bring the Finnish and Japanese sounds to the mainstream in the UK, with arguably relative success, I started the Munted Monthly podcast in 2011 with DJ Midas, which was a huge success during its short run, ending in 2012.

I was also a founding member of Freeformaniacs and the community album Freefornatted Vol 1. Around the same sort of time in late 2012, I joined the Smiling Corpse team and assisted with their hugely successful first physical release

I’ve been onboard with many projects since, in 2014 I remodelled Freeformatted and made it my own, less community based, which enjoyed relative success and was the only freeform label to put out consistent monthly releases for any sustained period of time.

So that’s my freeform career (so to speak) in a nutshell 🙂
