  1. Hey! Nice!

How about a subforum for support and suggestions for the site and forum?

I must admit that I am not entirely confortable with the fact that whatever I want to do, be it reset my password och change my profile picture I am being redirected from here to another site. But I guess that has to do with the platform used for the forum?

  2. Also, how, if possible, do I edit my posts on the blog? Just saw that my spelling is lacking a great deal. 🙂

  3. The only suggestion I can think of is removing the time restriction for editing posts on the forum. I noticed that the edit option for your post goes away after 5-10 minutes of it being published.

    Is that possible to change?

  4. Labraska – thanks for the feedback! I was planning to add a thread somewhere for TYFTH suggestions, so either that or a subforum will definitely be happening.

As for the redirection to other sites, I completely agree and to be honest I’m not especially happy about it either. It seems to be a default partly to reduce the load on the small blogs etc that tend to use wordpress, but I think there’s a way to at least allow avatar images within TYFTH itself. I’ll look into that today/tomorrow!

An edit post function is another priority and hopefully something that can quickly be added…three posts in and that’s already annoying me. Apologies for overlooking some of this obvious stuff before going live!

Solvynt – I was assuming that would be an easy fix, but it turns out that it’s not possible to remove the restriction without altering some code. I’ll of course look into that, but for now I’ve gone for a limit of 1036800 minutes, or 2 years 😀

    *edit
Labraska – I think we were probably both talking about a ‘preview post’ function, but after some investigating it’s a weirdly under-supported feature… The best I can manage so far is a plugin that adds a live preview under the post you’re writing, but there are some design/palette issues that’ll need sorting out first. I’ll get on that soon or try to find a better option!

  5. Thanks for looking into it!

What I meant was the option to edit a post after it’s been published. A preview would also be helpful though since that would most likely mean that I read through the comment one additional time before posting it. 🙂

    • Right, sorry for speaking for both of us there, I was losing track of a few topics and definitely meant ‘preview’…

Solvynt and I were talking about the edit post feature which is already in there – it should be an option at the top of the post after it has gone live, but until last night there was a time limit of 5mins or so. That’s now gone (or extended to two years, at least), so you might have better luck with it from now on 🙂

  6. An update re. profile images – there should now be an option on your profile page to directly upload an image here rather than being sent off to Gravatar. It seems to be working fine, but let me know if there are any issues!

    • I just uploaded an image and it seems to be working. Cool! 🙂
I’m still having trouble locating the edit button for my blog posts though. What am I doing wrong? 🙁

      • Good news on the profile at least! Not sure what’s happening with the edit button though…it should be to the right of the post date/time when you look at it in the forum. Things could be set up differenty for non-mods, but looks like others have already found it?

        • I think you and I might be talking past eachother. I’m talking about the blog posts. I’ve found the edit button on the forums though I haven’t had a chance to try it out yet. 🙂

          • Sorry Labraska, I missed this reply at the time, and sorry for completely misunderstanding during the whole conversation 😀 You clearly said blog posts at first, which I blindly sailed past as I was in forum mode…

There’s actually a edit mode for blog comments that’s restricted to me only, but I’ll check if it’s possible to open that up to people on their individual posts. Apologies again 🙂
