As we’re in the middle of one of those quiet spells, how about another Chill Out Corner? When it comes to Goa, unmixed playlists are almost as listenable as DJ sets, so here’s a little sequence of the tracks I’ve been listening to by Romania’s E-Mantra. His melodies are always something special, and combined with the acid and generally dark atmosphere there’s plenty to inspire us in the freeform scene, I reckon. First up is an amazing slice of dark ambience called White Lights. I’m having trouble finding this tune, but it’ll be opening one of my sets if I ever do…
Actually E-Mantra has just released a couple of excellent albums – Visions From The Past and Astrograms. Both are well worth picking up (if not quite matching the incredible Arcana), and are heavy on the ambient/downtempo tunes, including Secluded Trails.
Oh go on, let’s have another from Visions From The Past – this one is the fabulously-titled Last Day of the Butterfly.
This next one is actually an Eleusyn remix of the Arcana tune, Dansul Ielelor, but it does a brilliant job of acid-ing up the original track. As with most E-Mantra, there are some amazing melodies near the end…
Radiant Vision might not be as complex as some of the others (it is a little older, after all), but it’s a very nice hypnotic-style tune.
Talking of acid, now it’s time for E-Mantra’s remix of the classic Indian Attic.
This post could go on forever, but let’s finish with Voyager II, a great tune that goes completely mad about halfway through.
It doesnt look like White Lights has ever been released according to Discogs:

Yup, I checked discogs for it, too…what a shame, eh?
This is why I love TYFTH; another great post!
That Dansul Ielelor is such a monster of a tune! Wicked goa post as always, thanks a lot Plasma!
Now I just need to hunt down that album. 🙂
