  1. Grabbed this almost immediately. Amazing album!! My fave tracks are Geneva part 2, end of all things aryx remix, evolution Douglas remix, reptile zoo and skullcrush. Bit disappointed to find harri’s mix of Geneva wasn’t on the release. Anyone got any news on this?

  2. Favs so far are Geneva part 2, Shadows of tomorrow and Skullcrush (quite a nice surprise to me). Amazing album indeed =)

  3. What an amazing release… I absoulutley love Evolution, Shadows of Tomorrow, Geneva Part II and Skullcrush. The whole album is great!

@Alderz: I was wondering this too. I’d assume the track wasn’t finished in time and it couldn’t make it on the album. Who knows.

  4. My favs so far:

-Carbon Based’s remix of System Failure. It’s amazingly well produced with small little details that really make all the difference and then there’s that mesmerizing breakdown, which is definitely my fav. part of the track. Also liked that unexpected melody that comes out of nowhere, don’t think I’ve heard anything like that on any Freeform track. If this is anything to go by, CB’s album will be a blast.

-Skullcrush. The production quality on this one is also top notch and, again, there’s those small little details all over the place. It’s also full-on energy after that breakdown with those insane kicks, followed by those twisted melodies – very nice indeed! Just didn’t like the breakdown that much, if I’m allowed to say.

-Aryx’s remix of the End of All Things. I don’t really know if this makes sense, but Aryx’s tracks always sound so “complete” and “full”. I love the atmosphere in this one and also how everything builds up so perfectly. Aryx’s production keeps getting better and better, there’s no doubt about that.

    Honorable mentions to:

-Amini’s remix of Aquarius (it was a surprise for me).

-Flawless Victory, mainly for its *outstanding* breakdown. It’s very atmospheric.

-Transcend’s incredible arrange of Seismic Activity main melody. Bravo.

-Evolution for that first epic main melody. Main melody after breakdown’s also epic but less epic. :p

-Douglas’s remix of Evolution. I wasn’t expecting this type of track by Douglas (but then again, I don’t know much of him). As a compliment, I’ll say that at some point it seemed I was hearing an Alabaster track. Very nice, even if I don’t really like when there’s samples like “GO!”, but that’s a minor complaint.

  5. Have to agree with everything BerN says there. Carbon based remix sounds so refreshing. It’s great to her all our favourite artists really pushing the boundaries and keeping the music we love exciting!! 🙂

  6. Cool release ! And for free…

On a sidenote, best of luck to Aryx , “competing” with Alek “God” Szahala (I mean, in their sound is pretty similar, aka they’re on the more mystic/melodic side of Freeform) will make it hard for you, but carry on, you’re doing good stuff.

Great comment, I’d agree with all of that. Very good call on the CB remix, I forgot to mention that one…it’s great that the new amazing CB production quality hasn’t come at the expense of quality tune writing.

I’m not totally sure if the Proteus remix is still under construction, but there’ll be another EP from Substanced before too long (!) with some remixes that didn’t make it into the album and a few brand new tunes 🙂

  8. This album is pretty much the only music I have been listening to at home since it was released.

I must say that, even though Aryx remix of it is great, the original version of The End Of All Things is one of the best tunes on this two cd album and I am suprised that no one has mentioned it.

There are many other masterpieces on this release as well.

Amazing work from Substanced and thanks to all the artists involved.
