So if you dig a little bit into the genealogy of styles developed by your favorite artists, you can notice that sometimes, the melody and sound effects of some songs actually were sampled from some other track. (This won’t be a rant about plagiarism and originality, as we all know, there is nothing new under the sun.)
It would be rather boring if I revealed everything in that post, so I am just going to post some videos and hope that you will get the references.
Feel free to share what you have found. Let’s not count video game and Touhou arranges and such, and keep it to vinyls and “originals”.
Interestingly, I was planning to post a similar thread myself, but instead about video game arrangements and why they’re so unlikely to be the producers’ own transcriptions. This is definitely more accessible though and gets a similar message across. I only know of one example as I never got that deeply into other electronic music, which would be:
