‘sup everyone? Hope you’re all doing great. Letting you know about this event, because it looks like it’s going to be AWESOME. I’m really considering flying to Helsinki to attend it.
Who here is up to flying there? First beer’s on me. 😀
March 20, 2019 at 7:41 pm #3876Awww yes, I am going there. Already booked up my flight and everything.
I will spend the weekend around, maybe go to Talinn for a day if I am not too tired from the partying. But I am up for any potential meetup in the area.March 20, 2019 at 8:09 pm #3877Cool, we have to meetup then! I’ve no idea how big the venue is, but I doubt it’ll be overly crowded so it should be easy to meetup. We could exchange FB or insta to make it easier.
Where are you flying from? France, no?
March 20, 2019 at 10:56 pm #3878That’s right. (Un)fortunately I don’t have either FB or Instagram, so those means of contact are out for me. I am on Discord and Mastodon though.
According to the event page, at least 200 people are going. That’s no CODEX 5 level crowd, and with all the potential dancing across two stages, it might be messy.
Meeting before the event for dinner or something is an option as well.I wonder if it is possible to DM/PM someone over the forum
March 21, 2019 at 2:42 am #3879I do have a discord account. Lemme get the app for the smartphone and then I’ll add you. 🙂 edit: or what’s your id so I can add you on the PC already?
Missed the event page on FB eheh. Here it is for everyone else reading this:

I’m getting hyped for this! I’ll let you know if I end up getting the flight tickets.

March 22, 2019 at 9:23 pm #3881OK, I actually bought the flight tickets so I’ll be there! Now only the tickets for the event left. Site is a bit confusing, though. Seems they want to physically mail me the ticket? lol
March 22, 2019 at 11:20 pm #3882The website can send you the tickets as a pdf into your email address, that’s what I chose.
My handle on Discord is Jambato#5320. I will scrub it in a day or so.March 27, 2019 at 9:50 am #3885Lab-4, Alek, Proteus, AND Carbon Based?! Some possible Tyranoid/Strongstream too. Such an incredible lineup for an event that I…absolutely can’t make it to, unfortunately. 😛
Amazing that all of them are still playing live this long down the line, though. (It at least offsets the bitter taste of others not making it that far…)
Good to see you back, anyway, and somehow getting this community to actually speak up again. Hope it’s as great a time as it’s looking to be, or better!
April 4, 2019 at 12:07 am #3886It’s gonna be awesome. 🙂 Alek announced on his FB page that he’s gonna play new stuff. I don’t often go to these raves, so it’s a shame you can’t make it.
Also, Jambato, I sent you a Discord invite some time ago, but it seems we’re still not connected? Either way, it’s better we exchange FB messenger or whatsapp. Or just cellphone number in case you don’t have a smartphone.
May 1, 2019 at 1:22 am #3890It was an awesome event! Met Jambato a bit before the event, and it was nice hanging out with him! Hope you felt the same, dude! It was a pretty neat trip for me overall… Helsinki’s such a great city. 🙂
Anyway, the sets were pretty good. Proteus’, Lab-4’s, Száhala’s and Carbon Based’s sets were of course the main attraction for me.
Száhala seemed to want to start his set with Enuma, but due to (I guess) some technical error, changed right after the first few seconds to Megatherium. It was a pretty cool set, with lots of his more recent tracks. I remember a freeform edit of Slyder’s Score, Fuji, some new track I never heard before, Deimos, Maruuk… Iron Squid. That hour flew by.
Carbon Based’s ending was remarkable, btw, with Anger Ball and then Cyclone as final track. These last two are favourites of mine so it was awesome to see them played live.
I’m not too familiar with the tracks Proteus and Lab-4 played, but their sets were definitely strong and the crowd loved them. Personally thought that Proteus pumped a lot of energy into the crowd and seemed super comfortable mixing.
May 1, 2019 at 4:55 am #3892May 3, 2019 at 1:06 am #3894The anti-spam doesn’t seem to have taken notice of my post, so here it is again:
Of course! It was quite nice to wander in Helsinki with you! Glad to see you came back home safe and sound.
It seemed like Proteus had some technical warts as well at the beginning of his set, which were ironed out while playing. This is quite an exercise to be doing some troubleshooting while playing a set!
Some of the tracks he played – a Mad Gay Mafia/efadrine release for sure, Dark by Design’s remix of Heartburn, don’t remember the rest.Rx sure had some fun playing with filters. The crew pulled out Krateeri, Prologue, Ultimate Protection. The bangers.
Alek grew a chin patch.
Adam sure is bulkier than I had thought. Lab4 started with Efini, followed up with Ressurection.
Anyway, here is some footage. The loud, high pitched squeal is mostly probably me, no offense.

https://streamable.com/096f3 Eternal Cannon Rx RemixSome quality air pumping, head banging and feet stomping was made, so in all for all a quality event. Nice idea to put the big hard dance names side to side in the timetable.
One confusing thing was the presence of two DJ booths, one vinyl and the one digital, so it was rather puzzling to see a DJ leave, hear some set starting, pause then realize the next DJ was already getting started on the other booth! Happened to me twice, from Business City to Proteus, then from Proteus to Lab 4.May 3, 2019 at 7:47 am #3895Good to get confirmation you two were able to have a fun time for me, haha. 😛 Thanks for all the clips and details too. It seems like the relatively slower stuff is easier for most crowds to get into, considering who played. Not a problem if the music is still in the FINRG/Romancer tradition, I guess. I’m not even sure I’d appreciate any of it nearly as much live anyway, but I’ll cut this digression off here. I hope Iron Squid was a strong enough finale to make up for the beginning, as much as Megatherium‘s grown on me…and there was a surprise appearance from Rx too?!
I believe Alek played the faster remix of Score in an online set recently. Shouldn’t be too hard to find a decent portion of it.
Also, at the same time this event happened, I hear Shimo was in the middle of playing live! The setlist was as eclectic as we’d expect, but with Self Extortion and Quicksand as immediate standouts. Bet there’s a good story to be told there. 🙂
May 4, 2019 at 1:52 pm #3898Yes, I played Self Extortion and Quicksand at 180 as well as Nomic’s Mezame and Hyphen’s Inner Universe near the end.
3:40 is video from self extortion with some crowd footage both before and after the breakdown https://t.co/0AZbl4D3ld
January 15, 2020 at 6:21 am #3966Ah I just remembered, the one promo I was referring to was most probably Starcrossed!
