Substanced – Freeform from Finland (promo mix 2010) by FINRG Recordings
Anyone (like me) who missed Substanced’s appearance on the Free of Form radio show should be happy to see that his 2010 promo mix is now online. It’s a really nice set, and makes you realise the variety of tracks Substanced has been coming up with lately. From uplifting tunes that will get the crowd going (Challenge 2009, Do You Love), to nasty twisted crazy stuff (Freeform Mercury, Crank Cleopatra) and everything in-between, there’s pretty much something for everyone here. Standout parts for me included Crank Cleopatra (which went down very well at NRGetic Romancer), the insane intro to Challenge 2009, and that lovely breakdown melody in Escalate. Here’s the tracklist, and you can give a listen at the top of this post, too:
1. Substanced – Aquarius
2. Substanced – Apocalypse (2010 Remake)
3. Substanced – Challenge 2009
4. Substanced – Escape From Zombieland
5. Substanced – Escalate
6. Horzi – The Elegy (Substanced Remix)
7. Substanced – Crank Cleopatra
8. Substanced & Nightforce – Do You Love 9. Substanced – Meteor
10. Substanced – Freeform Mercury
I did listen to this last night actually. I searched for a mix by Nightforce and saw that the Free From Form show was on on thursdays. I checked the date and saw that it was thursday. 🙂
This was not the first set of the night was it? I think it was hard to understand exacly who and/or what was playing. Maybe they didn’t announce it or I just didn’t pay enough attention to what was being said between all the wicked tunes playing. 🙂
I did however recognize a few tunes as being Substance’s and now when reading this post I understand that this is what I heard.
Thanks for the great music played Substanced and thanks Plasmadancer for unveiling the mystery. 😀
Thanks Nisse and thanks to Plasmadancer! 🙂 But I have to say one thing, Its “Do You Love”, not “Do You Love Me” 😀
Thought our track was called only “Do You Love”? Or is it a new interpretation? XD

No problem! What other kind of stuff was being played apart from Substanced?

Oops 😀 The mistake was in the original tracklist on SoundCloud, so I just changed that too 😉
Awesome mix!
I’m quite a fan of Substanced anyways, really like his/her/their big epic breakdowns… I’m quite new to Nightforce and have only heard remixes of and collab tunes, but the stuff i have heard, I’m really impressed with.
Good stuff, keep up the good work 🙂
Following my previous comment, i scrolled down a bit (i’ve not been around for a few days by the way)…
Symphony For The Devil is an amazing tune… Big thumbs up for this one. I’ll be buying this at some point 😀
Chip> Thank you very much! 🙂

😀 No problem, just messing with you.
@Chip:
Only Remixes and Collabs? XD
The most tracks are my own productions.

Hehe good question that. I honestly don’t remember. I think I heard Grimsoul – Moment of Wonder and maybe Nightforce – The Second Redemption 09 among others. But I’m not 100% sure of either. Sorry. 🙁
I tried to find a “live” forum thread there on Rautemusik while I was listening to the live stream to see if someone would post a tracklist but I couldn’t find anything. In the extended player-window I couldn’t even see the name of the show currently on wich I found a bit disapointing to be honest.
Then again I don’t even know how much of the time Substanced spent in the “DJ booth” of Rautemusik that evening. If it was an hour or two or even more. So it might as well have been him playing those tunes. Maybe Substanced can enlighten us a bit more about the show and what was going on?
That does all sound a bit vague…great that they’re supporting Finnish tracks though, whoever was playing them 😉
Would definitely be good to hear more from someone who was involved on the night..
